Room planning
Give a great game
the room it deserves.
Start with clear dimensions, then consider the furniture, circulation, lighting, and the route into the room.
The first measurement
Plan the playing space.
Measure the usable width and length of the room. Mark fixed furniture, columns, fireplaces, and other obstructions. Use the guide for an initial estimate, then review a dimensioned plan with the team.
Start with playing clearance.
Estimated clear room width × length
Estimate = playfield plus two cue lengths in each direction. Uses common nominal playfield sizes; confirm your selected table’s actual dimensions. Allow separately for furniture, seating, lighting, obstacles, and installation access.
Before the specification
A better brief starts here.
The room
A dimensioned plan, photographs from each corner, and notes on fixed furniture or columns.
The route
Entry openings, hallway turns, stairs, elevator dimensions, and site access requirements.
The way you play
Preferred games, cue length, seated card-play layout, and overlay storage.
